Hey there! I'm Rubén Astudillo, a 19 years old Ecuadorian guy who likes to do some stuff. Normally I do more things about fine arts but on my free times I like to do Monsters and Creatures, hope some day can do this for a living. I've done this Fishman for a friend who let me work with him when I traveled once to USA, for… -
King Covid - Made during the lockdown - Creature Sculpting Contest 2021 entry 3
I started this character as a way to express my emotions during the initial lockdown in March 2020. It was a rough time for a lot of people and I needed something to focus on. I admit, it's not finished, mainly because I haven't had any time for several months to do sculpting :( I wanted to explore the idea of what a Covid… -
Clicker Reimagined (Trypophobia warning)
I began this project shortly after The Last of Us Part II came out as it felt like a fitting piece to work on while the world was locked down. However, moving across the country and other life events put this sculpt on hold for much longer than I would've liked. With The Last of Us television show showcasing clickers in a… -
Craal the Dark Woodland Elf sculpture. 1/3 scale
This "Craal the Dark woodland Elf" Craal is an original design, something I’ve had at the back of mind for a little while. He’s sculpted from monster clay and stands about 19 inches tall. He’s 1/3 scale which seems to be a scale I like to use for these kind of sculpt/projects. As soon as a I have a bit more time I’m going… -

Re: What's the best way to attach tentacles at front of a harness and have the controls feed backward?
Update: The cable I fed through the tubing was Sullivan S522 bulk cable kit. You get a good fitting sleeve with it. I managed to thread all 30 feet of cable into that sleeving, then fed that sleeving through 20 feet of blue pipe. The sleeving actually slides quite nicely in the pipe and the cable would probably be useable… -
Arnold SchwarzeneggerT2 Bust (Life-sized)
Hi, I'm Brandon from New Zealand, I could not afford to purchase a life-sized bust of the Terminator, I decided to learn how to make my own (although I now know it would have been cheaper to buy one already made, but what fun is that?). I used my own head dimensions to determine the size and then used references online of… -
Star Wars Droid - Chopper - Aluminium & 3D Printed WIP
I’ve been working on some 3D modelling for my Industrial Design portfolio and thought Chopper (the Astromech droid from Star Wars Rebels) would be a great excuse to do some CAD with detailed internals. I completed some initial 3D modelling near the end of 2019 but due to Covid 19 I've found myself with plenty of free time… -
Character Makeup Contest Entry 3, “Bianca” AKA “The Melted Woman”
“Bianca” was created for a micro budget sci-fi feature film shot on VHS called Elliot (2017). As Assistant Director and Key Makeup Artist I worked with the director, Craig Jacobson, to conceive the look we wanted to go for—what was often lovingly referred to as “the blob” or “the melted woman.” In the movie, Bianca… -
Five Nights at Freddie's: The Mangle, Lolita Style
Emma Durrill (Age 16) did all the makeup and sewing for the costume for this take on the Five Nights at Freddy's character, The Mangle with a Lolita twist. She designed and executed all the makeup herself using over the counter makeup - including the optical illusion of having had part of her skull torn away, exposing a… -
Five Nights at Freddy's: Springtrap
Emma Durrill (Age 16) did all the makeup and sewing for the costume for this gender-bent version of the Five Night's at Freddy's character "Springtrap" with a Lolita twist, doing all the sewing and designwork for the "clown suit" herself. (Think Pennywise's unkempt little sister who smells.) She designed and executed all… -
Re: Latex
Hey Rose, there's a wonderful tutorial from Ed at Distortions Unlimited on YouTube about a 3 part blend of water, casting latex and indoor latex house paint for base painting that is easily sprayable with your spraygun, or can be brushed/sponged on. Once dry, it's tough as nails, won't crack, and leaves your detail layer… -

Re: Hey Everybody! Want To Introduce Yourselves?
Hi guys, I guess it's a bit late to introduce myself, but better later than never. I'm Oswaldo Medina. I'm from Caracas, Venezuela and this is actually my first Stop Motion Course. Actually sort of my first "art related" course. I'm a Mechanical Engineer with studies in the field of Project Management. I used to work in a… -
Evasive Species: Creating the Sasquatch
Over the course of the past year and a half, in order to keep myself busy during the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic, I embarked on the most technically demanding project of my artistic career. Before the lockdown, I was invited to create an original sculpture for an exhibition titled Enchanted: A History of Fantasy… -
Legal advice
So I'm in a bit of a pickle and could use some advice from you seasoned pros. A while back, before covid, I was hired to create a very ambitious creature for an advert. Knowing what the company wanted to achieve, aIa jabba sized monster, I threw out a number. I said I would need at least 25 thousand to make something worth…
