My second attempt at sculpting with clay
This is my second go round at sculpting. With this one I wanted to model the design after Kurt Barlow and see where it takes me. I used WED clay again, and again I was unable to keep up with the clay. I move slow due to available time, lack of experience, and "being overly critical" so I'm told to where I'll constantly… -
Mask Mold with undercuts advice.
Hello! Newbie here having a lot of fun and learning a lot. I am making a mask that I want to cast either in latex or silicone. I made my own core and started sculpting with nsp clay, still blocking it out. I want to make the mold in stone but there are some deep undercuts(i think??). I'm not sure how to proceed. Change the… -
Painting urethane soft foam?
Hello all, I have recently tried flex foam-it 3, and it's a very interesting material, for stuff that doesn't need to stretch it can be really useful, and I'm already thinking about uses for other foams with their different consistencies, from props to costume parts, but... Isn't there a way to paint it easily? I mean, I… -

Re: Adam Ant Then and Now, Adam Ant impersonation cosplay costume
Far later in the evening after the rush to leave had passed us up, my wife was taking pictures of the theatre. My daughter took this picture of me waiting for the wife. I post this one to show the pants and boots additions.with the full costume. This is the Elsinore theatre in Salem Oregon, a beautiful location. -
How to make multiple molds
I have a negative and positive ultracal mold for a foam prosthetic appliance and was wondering how I go about making multiple copies of both. I have tried, but for whatever reason, they don't match. The negative and positive don't fit into each other when I make copies, and I can't figure out why. I'm molding what I have… -

Re: Making a mold of a polymer clay sculpture
Hi Thomas, While the bondo is acting as a "print" or "detail" coat, it's main use in that course is as a moisture barrier to prevent the resins used later in the molding process from reacting with the water in the clay. The process Mike Cooke is using would also be a great option for you, as he's working with oil-based… -

What is this tool called?
Hi all, I'm having a little language problem and maybe someone can help. I'm looking for the name of the drill bit people use to drill half-spherical holes for keys in plaster. Since I don't know what it's called in either German or English, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what it's called in English so I can look… -

Re: The Hobbit - Bard the Bowman cosplay costume, Bard the Bowman impersonation cosplay costume
I am working on some hair options, a wig and the world's greatest comb-over. I got the comb-over to work very well the night before my pictures but on day of, I ran out of super hold hairspray so it was a fail for the full costume. But this next set of pics is my recent work on hair, costume weathering and color, bow,… -
I need a sculpting easel for a half face life cast
I need a sculpting easel to prop up a board or half face life cast to sculpt on. I don't think you can just buy them so I'm wondering if anyone has any dimensions to build one or if there are any tutorials. I've seen some nice one's that allow the back to collapse and lay flat for easy traveling. I've thought about a… -

Hello there, Brianna. I'm reaching out about the project I hired you for back in August. You expressed you had to take some time away, just wondering if you returned to it? You said you would in the last message and now I'm wondering if you're done yet? You stopped responding back in November 2023. We need it for our…
