The Thing
For my contest entry, I crafted the creature from the thing bursting out of my chest using a unique combination of materials and techniques. I began with a foundation of tin foil and wire, carefully layering and sculpting with air-dry clay. To breathe life into this eerie creation, I employed a variety of mediums,… -
Re: The Business of Making Monsters - How to do what you love for a living
I'm currently working on my resume, cover letter and portfolio based on what I've learnt from this lesson. I was hoping I may be able to get some advice from the community, if this is the right place for it. Originally, I had my portfolio as one page at the end of my resume. Should the portfolio then be a separate piece,… -

Classic Mimic
I built this for a local theater's improv DnD show. Design is based off the classic Mimic from Dungeons and Dragons. I built it so an actor could be inside of it and move about on stage. It includes a tongue they can throw out, and slime and blood depending on the fights. The actors also threw out gold coins when the mimic… -

Re: Beheading
Does the director understand that their request would dramatically increase the budget, and likely look a bit off? Pulling off full-body gags in a single wide shot with no cuts is very expensive. There's a reason it's not done very often outside of big-budget movies and is done almost entirely digitally for lower-budget… -

Engineer Puppet (Halo 3: ODST)
Last May I went over to Calgary, Canada to meet some fellow Halo friends at Otafest 2024. I know these goofballs well and I knew I had to make something unique to share with them - so I made a Halo 3 ODST Engineer puppet! In keeping with the naming conventions of Halo lore, it's name is Smaller Than Average, but it's much…
