*** Horror Character Contest Winner Announcement ***

edited February 2020 in Horror Character Contest

Thanks to all who took the time to terrify us with your Horror Art! You gave us six weeks of nightmares but it was totally worth it to be reassured that horror art is alive and well around the world.

As always, it's difficult to select a "winner" when it's something as subjective as art, but this year's winning artist inched out the competition by a fang's-length. Ladies and Gentlemen, it is with great pleasure (and a touch of fear) that we present to you our 2020 Horror Character Contest winner: "Nosferatu" by Daniel Moy!

As Daniel wrote along with his submission:

"I would like to share a personal project I have been working on. This character is based on the 1922 movie Nosferatu. I wanted to create a modern-day version of this character how I imagine how he would look on the big screen."

We've always been big fans F.W. Murnau's unforgettable, unauthorized version of Bram Stoker's Dracula, starring Max Schreck as Count Orlok. Daniel's new interpretation of the character, expertly rendered with a variety of digital tools, makes us want to see Nosferatu in the theaters again!

So congratulations from all of us at Stan Winston School, Daniel, we hope you enjoy your Grand Prize - Sponsored by our friends at  Smooth-On!
