Animatronics control software

Hi - can anyone recommend some timeline based software to control servos / solenoids that I can use with a Raspberry Pi or Arduino? thanks!

    That looks like just the sort of thing that I was after but their proprietor controller is so expensive especially when compared to a raspberry pi... do you know of any software that might be suitable for the rasp pi?

    I've not tried it personally (there are some other folks on here who may have) but you can get VSA to work with Arduino, or with a Raspberry Pi.

    VSA runs on a computer and uses a separate controller board to interact with servos. That article shows how to use an arduino as a servo controller. You still need a computer to run VSA. If VSA would run on Linux, it might be possible to have it run on a Raspberry Pi, but as far as I know it only works with Windows.
    You'd probably be best of using a cheap laptop. Just remember that you need to purchase the software if you want to be able to save your sequences.
