Moving along with printing the next sculpt- This is part of a series that relates back to my study of the Barye .. circle of life stuff.
I did some rough estimations of length and then took the photos into my measurement app. I sent the sizes to my buddy and he cut the base shape. A rectangle at first but I had given him my rough measurement for the taper and by the time I got there to pick it up he had already finalized the outline. I just needed to sand in all the rolling edges, round out the neck and flatten the strumming and pickup area. I then dremelled the fret notches and the string notches at the neck. I did a dusting paint coat of Krylon Satin Espresso Brown, messy on purpose, and then used armature wire for the frets. Here is Brolin holding the prop:
