Mechanical linkage for prosthetic muzzle
in General
Hi everyone!
I am making an ape suit and was wondering if anyone has information on how the movements of the performers mouth and lips control the movement of the piece. I was watching the Stan Winston documentary and they spoke about the general principles involved and showed some footage, but I was hoping that someone would have some pictures and/or a more detailed explanation of the mechanism. THanks so much!

One common effect along these lines is to link the movement of the lips to the movement of the mouth. So as the mouth opens, the lips open as well. There is a video in the post linked above that shows such a linkage.
