John Silver by Duff Cosplay
Here is my take of John Silver from Disney's Treasure Planet. I made over 95% of this cosplay. The tricorn hat was hand sewn leather while on a ship. The head scarf was scrap sewn into a triangle. The moving Cyborg ear and led eye are made from RC model parts and misc electronics. The prosthetic silicone nose was made from my life cast, both techniques learned from Stan Winston videos. The makeup was applied with a Spray Gunner battery powered air brush. The coat is heavy duck cloth with a cotton liner. Brass buttons and metalic thread added detail. Not easy to see but the coat was weathered with oil, sanding, and fire! The shirt is a lighter cotton and pattern was made to resemble a 18th century sailor. Underneath was a muscle suit that started as a leotard with added foam and pellet "pillows". The Cyborg arm is aluminum framing with cables and linkage from RC airplane parts. The fingers are fully dexterous! The outer shell is aluminum sheet was formed in a english wheel, edge rolled then chemical distressed for aging. Stove burner covers and hvac ducting formed the bisep. Pants are made from three seperate fabric bolts to get the needed color pattern. The peg leg is made from steel strap and tube with a furniture "foot". I walk with my real leg strapped to my backside under the pants. I made the shoe with a modified last, hand sewed outed and contect cemented the sole. Enjoy!!
