Rub off weathering for rubber cement paint
Hi there! So I'm trying to find a chemical product that would rub off the top layer of rubber cement paint without disturbing the bottom rubber cement paint layer.
So far I've tried laquer thinner and naphtha but found it lifted the bottom base coat when I didn't want it to.
Any ideas what would work?

However, to stop this from happening in the future, you would seal each layer with a non rubber cement coat. If you coat it with something that is not thinnable using the rubber cement thinner and then paint another layer of rubber paint, only that one layer would be affected when using the thinner on the top layer.
This is the same method as layering unlike paint types on a makeup and is the very reason for doing so.
