Subscription Sale question on bogo

In the year end BOGO deal, is the Free-one a full unlimited one year, with full access like a full subscription? And if so, can you explain the renewal process at the end of the year? Any chance of coming back around to renew at 40% during the same sale and doing another free one for yet another new nonsubscriber?
I love my current rollover price and would be hard pressed to ever let it go but with this sale comes an incredible potential for a pay it forward scheme with one new friend signing on each time in succession. Each person being responsible to pay it forward the next year round and yet land a 40 percent discount themselves on renewal?
It brings up a bunch of what ifs due to my annual renewal date being the other half of the year....buuuut....it sure would be cool to be able to gift a subscription for just the percentage change in annual price. Insert really sappy, hopeful emoticon here.

The free subscription matches the one you purchase. So, if you buy a yearly subscription, the free subscription is also yearly.
If you subscribe at the discounted price, you maintain that discounted price every time you renew. You only lose that price if you cancel the subscription.
