Foam latex puckered edges

Hello, I've just started making foam latex prosthetics and was wondering why, after I tear the flashing away, some of the appliances have edges that are folded/puckered slightly. I got a feeling these are going to be a nightmare to blend. Any suggestions?

  • Hi @Troy Mccombs I passed along this question to FX supervisor (and Foam Master) Mark Viniello and he wants to know if you've been powdering the piece as you demold it?

  • Yes, I have.
  • Hey @Troy Mccombs - Here's some more thoughts from Mark Viniello:

"The only thing I can think of is that your foam latex might be slightly under-cured… You can try increasing the cure a couple of grams and extending the bake time a tad. It can also happen if you are adding stuff like castor oil to the mix. Feel free to share pics of those folded/puckered edges as well."
