Predator - Jungle Hunter (1987)
Hey everyone,
I created Predator from the first movie. I had to research a lot for behind-the-scenes footage, original props from the movie, and screen-accurate replica props. The hot toy figures I bought in the early 2010s also helped me when it came to understanding how the body armor and the rest of the suit came together. There could not be a better contest to join with this piece since SWSCA and their creations are what inspired me to become the character artist I am today!
My SSD burned the first time I tried to execute this project. So I eventually started over with many more references, and going through all the steps was mentally challenging. Even though I had to spend 7 months in total, the results were 2-3x better than I initially intended, and I am grateful for that. I will first post some images and then include the turntable videos.

- Sculpted in ZBrush
- Modeled in Maya
- Created the garment in Marvelous Designer
- Textured and created PBR Materials in Substance 3D Painter
- Rendered and baked textures in Marmoset Toolbag 4
- Created alphas, edited and composed the final shots in Photoshop
- Color-graded and bulk-edited in Lightroom
