Great White alternate materials???
If ya'll remember a few months ago i did a sculpting of a Great White shark head..i did a test casting in resin and it came out malformed and misaligned..backed it with foam and its quite heavy....wondering for a wallmount to sell if maybe i should do it in urethane rubber or silicone with foam backing??? KONG came out pretty well as a urethan rubber/foam backed piece...but a little nervous to try it with a piece like this that has a bit of a "hangout/ hangover"
Did a test paintup to see how it might look...i am motivated enough to correct the defects and try remolding it as a one piece to eliminate the seams...
want to maybe get a more "professional" opinion..

Re: Great White alternate materials???
Resin should be fine for it. My question is how did it deform? Sometimes the weight of casting material or expanding foams can put pressure on a mold and deform it, but that can usually be solved by providing proper support with the rigid outer mold.
Rotocasting would be a possible option to keep weight down. You would mix up small batches of resin and rotate the mold around to build up thin layers, leaving a hollow form that can then be backfilled with foam, or even strengthened with more resin and fiberglass.
The paint job looks awesome!

Revenant Cosplay extras, Dicaprio impersonation cosplay, Hugh Glass cosplay costume
I noted that my Revenant build post was taking a long time to load all the pictures so I made smaller ones to post here. These are some extras that I made just for fun. In the donut pic, I am on the right.

He was seriously ahead of his time with his use of the selfie remote.....
Not only did this remote need to be facing the camera, it was practically in need of being exactly 90 degrees to the sensor in vertical and horizontal. It was touchy to the extreme and guaranteed it would be in the photo. I have sworn to purchase the radio remote where I can tap it with my toe or hide it in my hand completely. This, in-line-of-sight, infrared is off my list of tools, after this build.

@Chris Ellerby Just last week, I was bragging on another student for their amazing documentation and mentioned that I usually fail to do so, myself. It made me take the time to take my process and parts shots before posting. This next shot is my main goal for this build but I will continue to play with a few that were used in the Revenant promotional material and posters as they are more likely to be recognized by individuals who did not see the film. I usually try to pick a famous scene, a memed scene, or a movie poster or preview clip as they are the most recognizable over time. This was the most difficult color grading I have done so far because of all of the snow reflections that were in the original scenes. The Revenant director used all natural lighting on these big field shots so there isn't one big light source and it was cloudy as well so no direct sunlight in most of these. And yes, I am whining, these were very hard to process to a near match for lighting.

Dementor with articulating arm extensions
I made this dementor costume for my daughter. The arm extensions are built on an aluminum frame and have articulated fingers that are controlled via lines hooked to her own, hidden fingers. The skin around the armature is silicone.
Here's a video of the fingers being tested: https://streamable.com/ekqda8

It's really coming together great! Now is that a period-accurate camera remote?
