Creating a bondo/Tinsley transfer

What have other found useful in doing this technique. Sometimes I can get it out of the mould perfectly, sometimes not. what is a good length of time to put it in the freezer? should I di this a few times? Also what is the best length of time to let it dry out before being able to apply it?
