Bananaman
I decided to make an action hero from an overripe banana. It also got me thinking about the physical and psychological effects war and violence has on people. We glorify violence with the action hero, but in reality violence can be a traumatic event. I wanted to see how that inner struggle might be reflected in the outward appearance of the Bananaman.
Bananaman was sculpted in Chavant clay over a plaster casting of the overripe banana. Finally he was assembled from 10 individually cast resin pieces and hand painted.
