Can you revive dry WED clay?

I left a project out for too long and the WED clay is completely bone dry and cracked. I saw someone use a method of putting the dry clay into a bucket with water and letting it soak, but I’m not sure if this would work? Has anyone tried this or should I just toss it out?

I've heard of folks rehydrating WED, but I've never done it personally.   The steps would be the same as rehydrating standard water-based clays.  As to how well the WED rehydrates, I can't say, and I'm sure it depends on how dry it was to start and how much water it takes on during rehydration.
