Dancer in Despair

Just another overworked underappreciated entertainer. Though she longs for the freedom of gregarious frolic, she is destined to spend her days entertaining as a sideshow act.

The locust is made with paper clay on a wire frame, oil paints. Her wings are watercolor painted tissue paper soaked in bees wax. Her enclosure is made out of a salvaged electrical equipment box with added mirror, flooring, ballet barre. The interior was aged degraded using watercolor paints.
