Degenerate Chromatism Monster Rat

When I first moved to Berlin, I had very little money but a whole lot of time :).
The giant Monster Rat created as part of my all-immersive installation entitled "Degenerate Chromatism," was built entirely out of low-cost materials including cardboard, papier mache, scrap wood and acrylic/spray paint.
What started out as a photography mission to document the vivid colors and ambiance of a graffiti covered edifice, later grew into the installation- Degenerate Chromatism. It sought to re-interpret the derelict space by creating a new environment to be experienced and emotionally processed as had the original decaying rooms of the abandoned building. The colors used in the installation where directly inspired by the colorful walls of the building.
