Simple creature suits

I see the final costumes for the course are pretty huge and elaborate. But I was wondering if after watching this course would I be able to make something like these

Just like a basic human shaped monster.

The same basic techniques can apply to slimmer character designs like these.  The primary difference is the character design.  Some characters may use sculpted and cast foam latex pieces for lower profile features, but many of these effects can also be achieved with foam fabrication.
