Spiny Lobster Man
This creature was designed with inspiration from the Spiny Rock Lobster. Their colors and textures are wonderful and lent themselves to an unlimited combination for makeup work.
The piece itself is made up of 7 prosthetic pieces. The nose/cheek, neck sides, chin, forehead, and back of neck/head are all foam latex. The top of head is a liquid latex slip cast filled with poly foam.
The wool dreads are felted and then dipped in rabbit skin glue to stiffen them, and then glued to each prosthetic piece.
The flower like shapes on the sides of the head are made of epoxy resin.
After applying the prosthetics, I laid more wool between and painted remaining skin to blend.
