Creature designer Casey Love (MEN IN BLACK 3, PREDATORS, AVP: REQUIEM) shows you how to create character designs using traditional sculpture and Photoshop. Do I need the whole photoshop program or one of the apps like Dreamweaver, Dimension, etc. they have a lot to choose from?

Just photoshop is needed for that. The other Adobe applications have different uses.
