How can i avoid crack on Sculpey or any other clay ?

Whenever I bake Sculpey or use air-dry clay, I see many cracks on their surface.
Is there any way to avoid crack?

Sculpey and air-dry clays are completely different from one another, so each will have different reasons for cracking.
