How to make protruding parts on silicone mask rigid?

I wasn't sure where to put this...I want to begin working on a silicone lycanthrope mask, with a long snout and ears. How do I ensure that the snout and ears/any pointy out bits stay rigid? Do people stuff these areas with foam?

Thank you, and hi! After years of lurking, I am thrilled to finally be more active on the community part of this site.

  • Hi Heather,

Glad to see you posting! :)

You can fill in larger areas with a 2 part expanding polyfoam or have a rigid core under them if needed.  You can also use polyfoam and armature wire if you want things like ears to be poseable.
