Creature Born From The Earth - Shona Ruddy
This was a creature I fully designed and created myself. It was part of my final college project. The concept behind it was a creature born from the earth, made from dirt, vines, roots, fossils, and a human skull.
I designed it, took a head cast of my model, sculpted the creature on the cast using chevant clay, molded it and created a large prosthetic / mask out of latex. I painted it with splashes of UV paint so It would glow under UV lighting.
I have a BA honors degree in character makeup for stage and screen and I am now trying to get a job in the industry. Winning this competition would mean so much to me.
