Reptilian Devil Ghoul (inspired by illustrator Matt Fox)
This is a sculpture of my own work and design, inspired by a 1940's Weird Tales magazine cover, illustrated by Matt Fox. This evil bastard is sort of an amalgamation of all the ghouls seen in the last image below. I sculpted this back in December, fresh off the heels of having just viewed Norman Cabrera's character sculpting class, here on the SWSCA site. I am a tremendous fan of his work and I gained so many good tips and techniques from his knowledge-share in those online sessions. As you see below, there were ultimately two color variants on latex masks I eventually made. I call the first "Black Cherry" and "Ripe" is the name of the second. I sculpted the hands, as well. Thanks for letting me share, as I myself have loved seeing all of the incredible submissions thus far!
