Hi all.
Steve Koci who is a member here has just published a really great book. It's a compendium for his many articles on the Servo magazine.
The Ultimate Guide to Do It Yourself Animatronics. https://www.hauntechdiy.com/
He covers a variety of different techniques in the chapters progressing from setting up a workshop to truly advanced Halloween and Haunted house props, however any of the projects can be modified for other purposes like CosPlay. This book is mainly geared for the amateur/DIY so costs for parts are kept low.. however the sky is the limit if you have more of a budget.
For $50 the price is pretty reasonable.
