Color Changing Alien
An alien leader whose species has color changing properties in order to communicate with one another. The idea behind the crest and chin changing colors came from animals mating actions and agonistic behavior. Depending on the color and pattern, the alien could be displaying a sign of strength for mating or use it to show aggression and intimidation to warn others to back off.
