rubber mouth plate and steel sanding sheets
Hi I'm wondering, when shopping for rubber to build a mouth plate, should I be looking for any certain type/brand? In 1/8 or thicker? Also, I'm having trouble finding steel sanding sheets. Dragon skin is out of stock. Any advice on a alternative?

I've always just used what ever kind of rubber I could find for tasks like that. You want something that has a bit of spring to it, but is also easy to bend. I would avoid going too thick, and test any rubber you find to see how it would perform. 1/8 seems like a good thickness. Again, that's just my thoughts on it, maybe another puppet builder has other thoughts!
As far as dragon skin sanding screen goes, as I mentioned in the other post, it's really hard to find. It's either discontinued or the company is not widely distributing it. I've not seen any in ages.
