Yoshua
This is Yoshua, a large extra terrestrial living in South Central. This costume was used for a short film I worked on in June, now in post. He has practical fx LEDs built in to the top of his head that light up fiber optic whiskers, controlled by a Bluetooth controller. I used Ted Haines method of muscle suit fabrication, applied to a frame and backpack. Yak hair was hand sewed and glues to the skin of the creature in wefts. The eyes are an acrylic half orb with green paint on the inside and will be keyed out in post. I applied mineral oil to the eye to get a natural moist shine for the fx artist to work with.
