Blue insulation foam and plastalina?

Are there any tricks to getting plantalina to adhere to the blue foam a little better? Is there like a base coat of something or some other clay I can use as a base layer? Thanks.

When I have trouble getting clay to stick to something, I usually go for a mechanical bond, where the clay locks into something. That can be as simple as drilling small holes into the surface, or adding something to the surface like chicken wire.
Not sure what would work for your application without knowing the type of project you are doing.
