Hydrocal heat and Chavant lebeau touche
Please help asap! I need to know if the heat hydrocal produces will melt the clay and ruin my sculpt if I use it to make a mold? Will something like the Jolly King plastaline be better? Thank you!

Chris Ellerby AdminYou should be fine. I've made Ultracal and Hydrocal molds of clay sculpts in monster clay and chavant medium before (which can both melt), and never had problems with melting impacting the quality of the mold/casting details.
I also don't use a ton of stone. The thicker the stone the more heat, and the more your final mold will weigh.
That said, your sculpt will likely be destroyed (or damaged) in the demolding process.
