Tutorial Selection and Progressions for sculpting
in General
Hello everyone
This is my first post so, if anything is wrong please let me know!
I would like to subscribe with the apprentice plan,so i was wondering if you could suggest me the tutorials you feel i'd learn the most from, given my skill level.
I am a newbie hobbyist sculptor,so i need the basics and i'd like to improve the way i sculpt humans, the face and gestures in particular. I also paint the sculptures so painting tutorials are also appreciated!
these are my latest works http://imgur.com/a/jMi7a
my older stuff is on my deviantart http://mooslikejagger.deviantart.com/gallery/
Thanks in advance!
Andrea

for sculpting human heads, i highly recommend the Jordu Schell class
https://www.stanwinstonschool.com/tutorials/human-head-anatomy-sculpture
His class gives a very, very important basic fundament of human head anatomy and proportions.
For humanoid maquettes Jordu Schells
https://www.stanwinstonschool.com/tutorials/sculpture-techniques-sculpting-humanoid-maquettes
and Adam Beanes https://www.stanwinstonschool.com/tutorials/female-figure-sculpting-in-cx5-s
and for Portrait sculpting Davis Fandinos

There are many other great classes with very great artists, but i think that these are for the more advanced sculptors.
The Jordu Schell human head anatomy sculpture class kicked me really forward and i recommend this class to everyone who wants to learn sculpting.
In my opinion, it should be the first target to learn how to sculpt a human face instead of start sculpting unreal creatures and such things :-) (Like i did, before discover Jordus class, hihi )

do you think the https://www.stanwinstonschool.com/tutorials/sculpture-techniques-miniature-head-sculpting-jordu-schell
is more advanced lesson? i thought it could be good since sculpey is the medium i use at the moment
Thats a very good class too. My opinion is, that there arent so many basic contents and its more about making miniatures.
If i would create a rank of these two classes, i would say 1. anatomy class, 2. miniature class.
By the way: you can use sculpey for that class instead of WED clay ;-) (you havent to sculpt in livesize)
Maybe you have to pause the class sometimes, to get to the stage where Jordu went with his WED clay.
Take your time, and try to get the best result, which you are able to get and have fun and a great time ;-)
You have to decide, both classes are very great :-)
(sorry for my english xD )
thanks again for the reply and have a good day
