Where to make the hole when making a Ventriloquist puppet head.

I have both the hand and rod DVD's and the Carving foam puppet heads and was wondering where you would put the hole or change the pattern for a Vent. puppet.  Having the arm coming up through the bottom of the body does not seem advisable.  How far back on the back of the body should it be or should I make the hole in the back of the head and allow the body to "hang" from the neck?

    I refer to THIS link when I need detailed instructions on vent figures...Since I do primarily soft puppets, this site sometimes helps me "bridge the gaps" if you will :tongue:
