Don Quixote De La Mancha

This is my first attempt at a marionette. He stands about twelve or so inches high, and is hand sculpted out of polymer clay. His joints are done with embroidery floss for a loose limb look and feel, and can be more or less easily replaced as needed (some joints more easily than others, i.e. the head).  His head is able to be raised and lowered in keeping with Don Quixote's Knight Errant name : "Knight of the Woeful Countenance". The sword can be drawn from the leather scabbard, the breast plate can be removed to show the leather jerkin beneath, with all its brass buttons, and the Golden Helmet of Mambrino shaving basin hangs from a leather thong off of the breast plate.  He is strung on a double cross, using eight strings, two of which (his hands) are on rings, so that when he is standing still, he can soliloquize...

I present to you,
Don Quixote De La Mancha
Knight of the Woeful Countenance
