Iron Man Suit paint protection
Hello all,
I'm currently 3D printing a Iron Man Mark 46 suit with PLA. I did a 2 part acrylic paint primer via HLVP sprayer and painted some of the parts via Enamel and Lacquer automotive spray paints. Would putting a 2 part urethane clear coat help strengthen and reduce scratches to the paint? Or is there a better option?

Chris Ellerby AdminUrethane clear coat should work well for adding a protective layer. I would do a small test on a sample PLA print that has the same paint process on it, to make sure the urethane bonds well to your top coat. You may need to sand the surface slightly before applying the urethane.
You can even get urethane clear coat in 2 part catalyzed spray cans. For example: http://www.repaintsupply.com/spraymax-2-part-2k-urethane-aerosol-clear-coat-p3685.html
