Plectrum Aspergillus ("Quill Gorilla")

Part of an "Alien Bestiary" I've been working on. This creature has some of the anatomy present in modern day mammals like the aforementioned gorilla, as well as a porcupine; which can be seen in the quills used for self defence. Wanted to use these aspects to give it an added level of reality and believability.

It feeds using a fleshy feeding proboscis which is concealed beneath the bony growths at its head to keep it protected when feeding.
