Where is the best place to get started based on background?
in General
I have dabbled in animatronics for a while now and would like to pursue it full time. Is there anyone in the organization who can look at my background and give me a suggestion for where to start with classes. My last project can be veiwed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bxe4PZvpFA and I have a long carreer in industrial robotics and CNC machinery as used in manufacturing. Strong background in PLC and HMI programming as well as machine tools, welding, and fabrication.

Chris Ellerby AdminHi Bobby,
I recommend Rick Lazzarini's Animatronics lesson series:

I would also try and focus on the character's performance in addition to the mechanical aspects of animatronic design. Adding more range of movement and finer movements that provide expression. Bridging the gap from mechanical movement to movements that feel organic is a difficult task, but makes all the difference. That's something Rick as really great at, and I've learned a lot from watching his lessons.
Great job on your dinosaur! I love seeing projects of that scale, and would love to see more of your work.
