Tick Tock Croc
My second entry for the creature contest. I was asked to create Tick Tock the crocodile for our local children's theater group. I started with a 3D model, scaled it to full size (8ft), then sliced it sequentially in 1" increments which were cut out in styrofoam (home insulation sheets). These were stacked to create a full size prototype to pattern from. Using techniques learned from the Ted Haines SWSCA foam fabrication tutorial I transferred the pattern to soft foam to create a croc suit to fit a performer. A skateboard was strapped to the performers belly and the the front and back legs were connected via rods for simultaneous movement.
