Jaw/teeth in silicone bust tutorial?
in Sculpture
I’m about to embark on creating a Wolfman bust and taking inspiration from Mike Hills work, I want to also create a realistic “mouth”.
His teeth look like they are sculpted and cast in dental acrylic, then inserted into his silicone heads for a perfect fit.
I’m guessing they are sculpted separately, cast in resin/acrylic, then he sculpts around the teeth/mouth. Then I assume he somehow removes them, molds the toothless sculpt, cast in silicone then reinserts the teeth??
The other method I’m guessing is he sculpts the teeth, tongue, gums, inside cheeks etc and molds it altogether, then finishes them after he has his silicone cast. If that’s his workflow, he is even more amazing than I thought.
Any insight to a recommended process? I’m skilled in sculpting teeth and casting in dental acrylic but the thought of sculpting teeth inside a mouth cavity is overwhelming to my ADHD brain lol. I’d rather use a tooth set like people use blank eye veneers.
