I'm an old skool Illustrator & Sculptor, returning online after years.
in General
Hey everyone,
Yes, just as the title suggests! I took down pretty much everything in 2017. I tried to return a few times, but I deleted those accounts as well. I've had Chronic health issues for many years, and still have! But I really wanted to share a world I've been creating and it's good to be back.
In 2005 I joined a forum that no longer exists, called 'Conceptart.org' and I loved that place so much. I spent a lot of time hanging out in the 3D/Sculpture forums. Great artists were in there, such as Peter Konig, Simon Lee, and the Shifflet Brothers. The not-so-known artists at the time have now become very successful, working in movies, games and appearing in books.
Then there's me. I haven't gotten anywhere. I felt like failure and thought that I'm good enough anyway. My health got worse, and I had to withdraw from the online world. Instead of trying to seek work in the film, toys and collectables industries, I just decided to focus on the labour of love. I don't even sell my own stuff.
I have created a world called 'Titans of Gaia' and it's been evolving since 2005. I'm extremely slow at what I do because I have Chronic pain, fatigue and other health conditions. So I can only do a limited amount of either drawing and sculpting, like 10-30 minutes, which is followed by rest times. It can vary from hours, days, weeks, and even months. So I don't think anyone would really want to employ someone like me anyway LOL
Please don't get me wrong though. I'm not seeking sympathy whatsoever. I'm actually trying to inspire somehow. I believe that we can still inspire even when we're not in a good place.
I've never been all that confident in what I do anyway. I'm my own worst critic, like a lot of you are I guess? I don't want to assume. What I do know is that I'm really passionate about what I do. Without meaning to sound ridiculous, everything I create is a piece of my soul. Even if someone doesn't like what I do, it's still a part of me.
Since returning, I have noticed that social media has changed so much. Algorithms are hardcore in the top social media sites/apps. I have joined a few places that are more like the traditional places, and this is as close as I can get to the 'Old Skool' forums. It's also full of passionate sculptors and inspiring works of art. I miss that feeling of being an art student again. Being around other artists. I also miss the days of Conceptart.org.
So I just wanted to share my work with you, and I hope that it resonates with you, amazing artists.
Speaking of which, when you get the time, please do check out my website and YouTube channel:

So this was the first sculpture that I posted in Conceptart.org in 2005. It's also the first character I created for my world: 'Titans of Gaia.'
'Neko Ryu' (2005) Materials used: Super Sculpey

And this is one of the sculptures that I finished at the end of January 2026:
'The Piscean' (2025-2026) Materials used: Super Sculpey, Apoxie Sculpt, Milliput, Das Clay, Wood, Tin foil, Vellum paper, various gauges of steel wire.

Thank you for stopping by!
Best wishes,
DreamSorcerer,
