How harmful is naphtha to latex?

Painting with rubber cement paint, and naphtha is an ingredient, I’ve noticed the paint causes the mask to shrink the latex temporarily, but is it harmful in the long term for the mask? I’ve painted a few already to great results but I’m just curious

  • You really want to use acrylics and water to thin the paints...painting latex with "rubber cement" is kinda redundant...all I do is paint the latex with staright acrylic and SEAL it afetrwards with a rubber sealant such as FlexSeal Clear...the Flexsweal is a stretchable rubber itself so it bonds with the paints and surface and the undercoat of paint does not crack when the mask it being stretched
  • straight acrylic..
