Crochet Clicker and Runner costumes (from The Last of Us)
I was so inspired by your article about Barrie Gower and team's work on the Last of Us! I spent around 50 hours making these two headdresses, one to be a Clicker, and the other to be a runner. I used variegated yarn with a satin sheen to try to mimic the colors of the wet climate cordyceps in the show, and then I wove jewelry wire through each of the crocheted pieces to make them stiff and pliable, then sewed them to an easy eyepatch (runner) or masquerade mask (clicker). I used some modeling wax and lipstick to add texture and bloody color to our faces. We dressed up as our fav characters from the '90s, imagining that they got infected when the cordyceps hit in 2003! I was Carrie Bradshaw from SATC in her iconic white tutu and he was Neo from the matrix.
