Cockroach Alien
Hi! My Name is Marisa Ferreyra.This is my first time participating in a Stan Winston contest. My husband and I met Matt Winston at Monsterpalooza this year, and he couldn’t have been nicer. He answered all my questions about the craft, and I had many questions!
We ended up subscribing to the Stan Winston School, and I’ve been watching lessons every week, learning how to make all of this. Making movie monsters has always been a dream of mine, but there weren’t any monster movies being made back in Argentina. Now we live in Barcelona, and our daughter is studying at film school. She needed a creature for one of her short films, and I jumped at the opportunity — not only to create a creature, but also to collaborate with her on something she was making.
We completed the short film, had an absolute blast, and the whole experience was incredibly rewarding. So when I saw this contest, I decided to redo the entire costume for the creature and give it a darker, fantasy-inspired look.
