Monster Gloves and hand armatures.

   Good evening,
My name is Chris and I am coming to you again with a similar issue like I had last year. So from the pics, you can see I built my monster gloves on the left and right foam armatures I made myself. I used Loctite Spray foam with a wire skeleton built underneath. I made the fingers and thumb to where they could come off upon demoulding.
Unfortunately, I am still running into the same problem of trying to pull the gloves off the armatures. I have tried using dish soap to slip the gloves off to no avail. I was wondering if anyone may be able to suggest something where I can salvage the gloves. Also I have a plan for my next hand armatures, I am planning the make them as thing as possible. Then sculpt the design in clay on them, make a mold and then use the hand armatures as the core to build the gloves on.
I am hoping that with making the armatures thinner, that I can have an easier time getting the gloves off. These are special effects gloves to be worn as a second skin. The material is latex, with stretch material built in. I am also open to some guided and experienced suggestions about how to go about making the gloves and hand armatures in a better method if my plan I have isn’t the best way
Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope you can either offer me a better method or possibly point me to a tutorial that I can take notes from. I hope to hear back soon.
   Thanks and best guys,
     Chris Scott.

  • You may want to try silicone rather than latex, as silicone can stretch a lot more, making it easier to demold and giving you more range of performance.

With such a narrow wrist, getting the latex off the form will be even more difficult.   Dish soap is a good idea as a lubricant to help remove them.  You may also want to try blowing compressed air into the gloves to see if you can get them to expand and break the seal.
