Everglades Abomination

Modeled on my iPad with Nomad Sculpt.

 Project Fenrir
During the height of the Cold War, deep within the remote Florida Everglades, a foreign adversary covertly constructed a hardened research facility. Disguised as a weather monitoring station and surrounded by the seemingly never-ending swamp, a team of geneticists work tirelessly and forcefully under a shamed military leader to form an unholy fusion of reptile and amphibian. The goal you ask? To create an abomination capable of multiplying and destroying infrastructure, crops and deliver infectious venomous bites. The only safeguard was a virus capable of targeting a specificly designed sequence of genetic code encrypted into each experiment.
The experiment was a success.
Until it wasn’t.
One of the lead scientists, in a moment of carelessness mistakenly contaminated the experiment with their own genetic material. What emerged from the growth tanks was something unnatural. A horrifying creature with humanoid traits.
When the Cold War thawed, the facility was abandoned overnight. Support from the motherland vanished. The staff fled, leaving behind a monster too dangerous to kill in hopes that time will simply starve out the creature. Alone, it survived on escaped lab mice that infested the facility and any critters that entered the facility via HVAC ducts and plumbing.
Now, decades later, a group of thrill-seeking teens unexpectedly stumble into the overgrown ruins on an Everglades camping/fishing adventure. They ignore the rusted warnings, breach the corroded blast doors, and descend into the darkness.
The Everglades aren’t silent anymore. Something is hunting.
