Crossing the border with a car full of body parts
Hi everyone,
Canadian FX artist here. My team and I are currently in pre-production creating props and prosthetics for an indie feature that is shooting next month. This is our first time working on an US/Canadian co-production, with part of the scenes being shot north of the border, and part on the south side. It turns out that all the FX scenes take place in one of the US locations.
The production expects us to deliver everything to set, as well as one of us being present during the shoot, to oversee that their team is using the props in the best possible way and that the FX makeups look good.
I am a little nervous about crossing the border with a car full of body parts, a makeup kit and a few buckets of blood, especially with the recently increased border regulations. Does anyone have experience travelling with their props from Canada into the US or vice versa? Any input and recommendations are appreciated!
