The Brain of Morbius (inspired by doctor who)
This is my re-interpretation of the 1984 Doctor who character: the Brain of Morbius. It is very loosely based on the original which is a costume mostly fabricated, and there are elements that reference the original design but still wanting to try reimagining it for a new audience.I made this sculpture as the 2nd piece of my Masters course.
For those who don't know, the Brain of Morbius, is about a frankenstein style creature with bits of dead aliens welded together.
It stands over a meter high and is cast in fibreglass from a plaster breakaway mould.
and it was sculpted in wet clay on a steel armature that I welded
