Biomechanical - Take 2
I re-took my images as the previous pics I uploaded had washed out color.
This is my Biomechanical, inspired by the work of H.R. Giger. She stands about 9.5"and 6" in diameter. This was hand sculpted in Monster Clay, then molded using a silicone glove mold, and then cast in resin. The paint was a combination of air brush and hand brushing. This was sort of a homage to Giger with elements inspired by a number of his paintings. My hope when beginning this was to create something that felt like it could inhabit the worlds that Giger created. This was a great learning experience, as most everything it took to bring it to this point was new to me.

This link goes to a blog post that breaks down the process I went through with the glove mold, and what I learned from it.

And here is a video of the Biomechanical doing a couple rotations.
