Grinny- The Alien fetus
This is an original design for a weird alien fetus. It started out as a doodle sculpt, in chavant clayt! LOL My idea was that the tentacle looking limbs would eventually fuse together and grow in to actual limbs, but it could survive outside of a womb (of sorts) due to the advanced torso, brain, teeth, organs, etc.
I wanted it to be really creepy!! I sculpted, molded and cast, the head and torso as one piece. The tentacles, gums and teeth were molded separate. I cast the gums and teeth in dental acrylic, then created a mechanical bond to the silicone using twine, embedded in both the acrylic and the silicone. The tentacles are also backed up with embedded twine inside. I decided to purchase a display jar, so that it could be submerged in water, and a little food colour, to mimic formaldehyde.
