Wearable alien feet

Hi I'm trying to construct some alien wearable feet. I'm going to build up around a mannequin foot with clay. But how do I create the hole so my actual foot can fit into the mold?. I'm a newbie. So appreciate any advice.

    You would do that with a mold core that sits in the center of your mold and represents the void where your foot would be.  The mold core should be able to lock into the top of the mold so it is properly suspended inside the mold, leaving space for your casting material to fill.
